Matúš Dopiriak, a PhD student under prof. Juraj Gazda a member of IISLab, delivered a lecture at UC Irvine’s AI/ML series. He introduced radiance fields, a groundbreaking technology creating photorealistic 3D scenes. They enable advanced 3D scene understanding and editing, supported by LLMs and diffusion models. Their applications extend to robotics, where they facilitate planning, navigation, and manipulation. He also presented joint research between TUKE and UCI, supervised by prof. Juraj Gazda and prof. Marco Levorato on using radiance fields as digital twins for video compression in autonomous driving.
